Here we see progression photos of a large habitat creation area. Our crews planted hundreds of thousands of plants with a diverse group of plant species. We installed herbaceous plants, ground covers, grasses, shrubs, and small and large trees. Even before we finished planting, wildlife was coming in to survey the new habitat. Wading birds were most commonly noticed in the planting area, but we also encountered American alligators (from a safe distance).
In a few months, the wetland will be filled in nicely as the plants start to spread and reproduce. As the area matures, more wildlife species will call this area home as the trees and shrubs will provide food and cover. This project expanded over 70 acres and we are proud of the end result. Our team proudly dedicated several weeks to this project in our mission to grow, enhance, and restore Florida’s natural habitats. (Click on the photo to open slideshow)
